Level 1 Teacher Training Curriculum

Our curriculum is fully aligned with the latest Yoga Alliance standards, providing a top-tier experience with the most current and relevant knowledge for aspiring yoga teachers or students who wish to deepen their practice.

Techniques

  • Daily yoga practice to deepen personal understanding and embodiment of postures.

  • Yoga posture labs to explore alignment, modifications, and safe sequencing.

  • Breathwork techniques (pranayama) to cultivate energy, focus, and calm.

  • Meditation practices to develop mindfulness, presence, and mental clarity.

  • Integration of techniques into a cohesive personal practice.

 

Teaching Methodology

  • Learning to create approachable and effective yoga sequences for all levels.

  • Clear instruction techniques, including verbal cues and demonstration skills.

  • Observation and assisting methods to support students safely and effectively.

  • Exposure to different teaching styles and the qualities of an exceptional yoga teacher.

  • Insights into the business side of yoga: class structure, student engagement, and professional development.

  • Practice teaching in supportive, constructive group settings.

Anatomy and Physiology

  • Practical understanding of physical anatomy relevant to yoga practice.

  • Study of major muscles, joints, and bones and their optimal function in poses.

  • Techniques to positively influence movement patterns and prevent injury.

  • Application of anatomy knowledge to safely guide students in alignment and modifications.

  • Understanding the connection between anatomy, breath, and energy in yoga.

Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle, and Ethics for Yoga Teachers

  • Overview of the history of yoga and foundational philosophies (sutras, yamas, niyamas).

  • Exploration of how yoga principles can be applied in daily life and teaching.

  • Ethics of teaching, including safe, inclusive, and respectful practices.

  • Practice teaching with peer feedback, observation, and reflective exercises.

  • Development of personal teaching style while honoring the traditions of yoga.

  • Guidance on cultivating a balanced yoga lifestyle for personal and professional growth.

Fall 2025 Level 1 Hybrid Teacher Training Details:

This is a once in a lifetime transformative experience that will not only open the door for you to discover the deeper meaning behind the yoga practice but will leave you feeling a greater connection to yourself and the world. In-person sessions will be paired with self-guided online modules, offering you an accessible and well-balanced experience!

 

In-Person Schedule:

10/10-10/12 & 10/24-10/26

Friday from 4-9pm; Saturdays and Sundays 9am-6pm

 

Location: GoYoga Powell (10235 Sawmill Parkway)

This program will primarily be led by Molly Morgan (ERYT500) & Megan Blum (RYT500)

Our Level 1 Hybird Training hours breakdown to 55 hours of in person sessions, 30 hours of online modules, 15 hours of reading / self study.
